Director of Spiritual Growth, Co-Founder
While serving the community as an Imam since 2015, Arshad has developed a passion for helping individuals who struggle with their Muslim identity, by building their confidence and independence for them to achieve their true potential.Arshad is a proud father of four and is also known as the self proclaimed "King of Dad-Jokes". Arshad holds degrees in Educational Leadership and Islamic studies, alongside being a Certified Master Practitioner in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)
Born and raised in the Sultante of Oman, Alia moved to the United States to complete her Bachelors, then Masters, in Business Administration. She has since pursued a successful tenor in Corporate America as a Portfolio Analyst, moving her way up to Chief Operations Officer of a financial services agency. From the beginning, however, Alia has immersed herself in acquiring knowledge for her own self-development journey as a modern Muslim woman living in America. And because of this, many have found comfort in turning to her for advice and guidance. She saw Seeker's Institute as a way to formalize her love for transforming those around her. Outside of empowering those to discover their potential, Alia can often be found fueling her creative eye with filmmaking and writing.
With 18 years of experience as a Financial Advisor, TJ found himself "coaching his clients about their financial habits, beliefs and attitudes, which affected their future outcome. His reputation as a trusted, proven and hard-working financial professional propelled him to becoming a Partner, then Senior Partner, in the biggest Financial Services company in the country. He, however, always believed his calling was in Personal Development and Entrepreneurship. Today, along with being the proud husband and father of three, TJ not only continues to be a formidable Financial Coach but has expanded into Executive Coaching and youth mentoring, along with various other disciplines of Personal Development.TJ holds a Bachelors in Business Administration and holds FINRA Securities licenses Series 6, 63, 7, 26 & 24. He is also currently enrolled at Northwestern University, where he is pursuing the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation. He is also pursuing his Master Practitioner Certification in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) at an accredited International Coaching Federation (ICF) center.
The Mindful Mediator
Maria Khan is a community leader and educator. She has spent the last 12 years educating the Muslim youth of Atlanta through various Sunday School programs, halaqas, and community events. Maria has also volunteered at Madina Institute's non-profit branch, Madina Mercy, that solely specializes in humanitarian work. Maria is passionate about giving back to those around her and making the world a better place by empowering others to reach their full potential and live a fulfilling and meaningful life. Maria currently holds a Bachelors in Political Science from Georgia State University and is currently an MA candidate at GSU. Maria is also a graduate of the Usul-ud-Din program at Madina Institute. Beginning this fall, Maria will be attending law school while also completing her certification in mediation.
The Unorthodox Leader
Abdullah is a community activist and educator, and currently serves as the Executive Director of the Georgia chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR-GA). Before joining CAIR-Georgia, Abdullah served as a board member of FAMA (Faith Alliance of Metro Atlanta); co-founded MYLA (Muslim Youth of Los Angeles); board member of ASHA (Atlanta South Asian Health Alliance - Emory University); founder and director of the non-profit educational organization, Tibyaan. In recent years, Abdullah has become well known as a scholar-activist who puts faith into action by protesting, speaking, and fundraising for various causes across Georgia, including voter turnout, civic engagement, and opposition to Islamophobia. He spent a number of years in South Africa studying at some of the foremost Islamic Universities completing his undergrad and postgrad studies in Arabic and Islamic law. He has also received Teaching Licenses in Quranic Sciences, Arabic Grammar & Hadith Sciences.
Director of Personal Growth
Omnia Abdel-Gawad is a motivated entrepreneur who has started multiple businesses over the years, both locally & internationally. She is the founder of Aspirations Coaching & Omni Beauty, a company committed to providing clean & natural beauty products. Omnia is passionate about community work & has supported non-profit organizations working to address community capability building, sustainability & women empowerment. She has been volunteering with different organizations & is currently a board-member for Noor Family Services, a non-profit that supports individuals suffering from domestic violence. She is also a member on the advisory-board of Ethar, a non-profit that supports local refugees & under-served families by guiding them towards achievement of true self-reliance.Omnia holds a Bachelor's in Computer Engineering from Texas Tech University & is also an International Coaching Federation Associate Certified Coach (ACC) & a certified Grief Recovery Specialist.
The Clarity Consul
Dania Ibrahim is an Atlanta native that is passionate about giving back to the communities that gave her so much in her youth. She has served as the president to a Muslim youth group, a philanthropy coordinator for the Georgia Tech Muslim Student Association, and the co-founder of an annual interfaith event entitled Picnic for Peace. Through these roles, Dania has coordinated and spoken at numerous workshops with the goal of inspiring Muslim youth. Dania has a drive for building an understanding amongst different groups of people. To actualize this interest, she served as the executive director of TEDxGeorgiaTech, as well as the undergraduate representative for her college's Racial EquityTask Force. She also served as a Resident Advisor and orientation leader which have allowed her years of experience in responding to challenges students face and creating a welcoming environment on a college campus. Dania will be graduating from the Georgia Institute of Technology this May with a Bachelors in Neuroscience as well as Health and Medical Sciences, Middle Eastern Studies, and research concentrations.
The Sports Coach
Raheel is a a Southern California native who recently found a new home in Atlanta. Having gone through some hardships from a young age, Raheel began playing basketball as an outlet, slowly developing a love for the game. He has played, organized basketball for nearly 2 decades and has coached youth basketball. As an avid Lakers fan, he draws much of his love and inspiration for the game from the late, great, Kobe Bryant.Outside of basketball, Raheel has worked with organizations such as Islamic Relief and The Pakistani Student's Association on various community service and community outreach programs. He also holds a Bachelor's in Political Science from the University of California, Riverside.
The Worthy Woman
Sabria Mills is a social advocate and educator, who partners with fellow educators, community leaders, and activists to advocate for inclusive spaces for marginalized voices. After spending nearly a decade working in education and addressing the needs of non-profit organizations, Sabria continues to advocate for marginalized individuals across the city of Atlanta. In addition to her advocacy work, she currently works as a journalist for an international publication and owns a podcast called, The Dope Muslim Woman Podcast. Her work as a journalist focuses on amplifying the voices and experiences of Black American Muslims.
Nourish To Flourish MS, RDN, LD and Registered Dietitian
YaQutullah loves empowering people to learn & apply nutrition into every facet of their lives & to understand the connection between faith, health & wellness. She has 11 years of experience in dietetics & nutrition, working with patients on improving their health outcomes related to diabetes & weight management, cardiac disease, amongst other chronic health illnesses. YaQutullah is the owner of Nutrition Prescriptions, LLC, a company that specializes in weight management, recipe development and analysis, nutrition education and women's wellness. She has also written for Halal nutrition-focused magazines, developed curriculum materials for the VA Whole Health for Life wellness program & has presented at several women's health & wellness retreats in Bermuda. YaQutullah has also worked in inpatient clinical, community outpatient, school nutrition, WIC community nutrition, & private practices. YaQutullah has earned her Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Master's degree in Health Sciences and Nutrition from Georgia State University.
The Ambitious Artist
After working as an IT auditor for eight years, along with holding a degree in Finance from Kennesaw State University, Afreen found a love for art and philanthropy. She specializes in calligraphy, abstract, and Arabesque art and her unique style of modern and old-world techniques brings about visually stimulating pieces that warm the heart and soul.Through proceeds from sales and generous donations, Afreen runs a not for-profit charity to assist the less fortunate with medical care.Afreen supports social impact organizations and has donated her artwork to raise funds for Non-Profits across the country. Her art was celebrated at Atlanta City Hall at the inaugural Religious Pluralism day on April 4th, 2019
The Cuisine Connoisseur
Ayesha is a young entrepreneur & educator with a passion of better understanding the Muslim community in order to make an impact. In 2014, Ayesha completed her memorization of the Quran at Al-Bayaan Institute & went on to serve as an Islamic Studies, Sunday School, and Quran instructor for over 5 years. Ayesha has partnered with several Muslim non-profit organizations in the Atlanta area, working specifically with vulnerable refugee and minority populations. She was appointed an executive board member, then president, of United Muslim Relief's Georgia State University chapter. As her various work with the Muslim community grew into a deeper desire to better understand others, she followed her passion & earned her Bachelor's in Psychology from Georgia State University.Alongside her humanitarian endeavors, she also founded her own baking, catering & restaurant review business, Ayesha Eatz. She hopes to further establish her business & open a halal bakery in Atlanta. She is also pursuing a masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling & aspires to work as a counselor to continue giving back to her valued Muslim community.
